We are a mobile soup kitchen that serves free weekly meals.
God’s Chuckwagon is in Sunbury on Mondays and Shamokin on Tuesdays.

Pastor James Bowers and his wife run God’s Chuckwagon and have noticed more people coming for free food so far this summer. On May 14th, we had an amazing week. Serving 190 meals. We are Blessed to be able to do this, with the help from generous donations, for which we are so thankful for. Although Pastor Bowers says it’s a blessing to do this work and serve this many people, they have also had a rough time when it comes to getting supplies to make the meals they give away. He says people donate canned goods, produce, and other items, but he has to buy the meat out of his pocket. We recently found that with the rising prices it is getting hard to make ends meet. Maintenance, insurance and fuel for the bus, paper supplies, and occasionally food purchases. We find ourselves taking from our personal account to help cover some of these cost. We are reaching out to the community for donations. Donations monetarily-wise are down, so we’re praying that they go back up so that we can continue doing what we do.
